Should plant more money seeds next time.

Not to mention sauces, food, leggings and coffee from Malaysia :)
(Funny how I've been deliberating over buying 3-in-1 coffee because I'm lazy, but instead of me buying it I received it as a gift on Monday!)

But I've been telling the Lord that I've been very cold and that my heater wasn't warm. Sometimes I expect Him to supernaturally give me warmth, like an explosion of heat that would run through my system.

Instead he just sends people to where I am and give me a heater.

God is kind.

I finally got my phone on Friday (3rd Feb) in the letterbox! It's so funny how it worked out - almost hilarious really. Got my phone covers before the phone about a year ago, and I hinted to God, "I bought the covers! Now all I need is a phone to FIT INTO THOSE COVERS!" I was thinking at that time: is this how I exercise faith? Extending my tent before it is even filled? Sometimes I felt so silly and childish. Like at the end of the day, the joke's on me.

But when the moment came, I decided on another phone - because I thought it would be a cheaper and a better option. However, when the time came to purchase it - it felt like everything was against me buying the phone. Everything. And before I knew it - I bought the phone that was supposed to fit into my covers - the one that I told God about - almost in a state of unawareness. Only realized that I bought it after I bought it (on the internet). And at a cheaper price too!

God, you are so funny.

I extended my tent, and he filled it after all.

I'm just so glad that everything is FINALLY sorted out - phone, banking, rent, etc. It's amazing how much lemons were thrown in my way in that short period of time. But time and time again, He stood in between and made lemonade to go with my peanut butter and lemon curd sandwich (SO YUMMY!).

God is faithful.

If I were to be more aware of the little tiny details that God bothers to takes care of in my life - besides the huge obvious ones - I start to get a small glimpse of how much He loves me. Suddenly the phrase "God loves you" starts to make sense. The little miracles and co-incidences that he drops in my path makes me so grateful that sometimes my heart can't take it.

He has surrounded me with good people. He has kept me safe. I wake up every morning, warm and healthy, with food to eat and water to drink.

God, you are so kind and faithful.

#2

I can finally say that I'm starting to settle down! Today is exactly 3 weeks since I landed and hauled my luggage to my room with much help from the reception.

Between the 5th till today: I've been meeting new people, making new friends, finding my bearings and just being familiar with my surroundings. The weather has been extremely cold to me, and as a person who has lived in an extremely warm/hot country all my life, the abrupt change is quite a shock to my system.

I find myself shivering most of the time with chills constantly running down my chest - despite wearing 5 layers. My heater is like a fridge - almost never warm, and it switches off every 45 minutes.
But when I'm fresh from the outdoors, my room with the fridge of a heater becomes so appealing and welcoming that I'll just stand in front of it for a good 5 minutes.

If I could detach it from the wall I would probably hug it with appreciation.

Then I'll boil some hot water, and drink it in front of the heater as I think about the sun.

Definitely a new found hobby.

I've been speaking more Chinese than English here, which I think is quite funny considering the country that I'm in. Most of the people I've become friends with are exchange students from Hong Kong, but I suppose it's a chance for me to further improve my (very shamefully bad) Chinese!

I haven't been taking any pictures, except for one:

:)

I really need to take my camera out more often!

* * *

I can say that I've been very very very blessed. The events that unfolded - from the day I've arrived - the "coincidences" and "happenings" that have smacked me right in the butt has made me realize that I'm far more looked after than I know. Given the circumstances and difficulties that I've faced - I really did not expect my solutions to meet me so quickly without any effort.

Even my solutions were astounded at how "coincidental" everything was. I said nothing but agreed with them, but truly in my heart I knew that it was not I nor luck, but it was He who was, is and will always be taking care of my well being. Not to mention I can see Him laughing as I look up in amusement and amazement.

I then came across a proverb that said: "We can make our plans, but the LORD directs our steps. (Proverbs 16:9)" I couldn't believe how literal it was to me.

Amazing.

My heart is so full of thanksgiving. God is without a doubt, amazing. And so very kind. I am grateful.

#1

Archived all my previous blog entries.

Here's to a very good 2012, drenched with grace and full of amazing, unexpected pleasures that is waiting for me to experience:)
